What is Surge?

Surge is MGLVA’s Gaming club. It is open to any student in grades K-12. There is no cost to be in Surge.

What does Surge do?

Surge meets both socially and competitively.


What is Surge’s vision?

Our vision is threefold.

1. We are students and staff before players and coaches. As such, academics takes priority over our shared love of gaming.
2. We are MGLVA representatives. Each member and coach will show respect for themselves, other club members, and whomever we interact with while gaming.
3. We all want to grow. Surge gives its members a chance to learn skills that will help them grow socially, academically, and possibly even in career opportunities. We all want to see each other thrive in any endeavors set out before us.

I really like being able to interact with people who have similar interests every day! It was nice to make some new friends.

I like the friendly gaming community Surge has created, a safe place without the chaos of other players who just want to be rude.

I like that there are monthly activities and sometimes random activities like game nights.  I like that the club teachers interact with the students and that there are opportunity's to play competitively.  I also enjoy the College Visits.

I like how the club lets me explore playing games competitively and learn crucial team-working skills.
